My Top Five Favorite Fishing Spots in ESO

Fishing is one of my favorite past times in ESO. It activates my parasympathetic system and does wonders for my stress levels. It’s incredibly soothing to travel to each zone and find all the special fish for the zone completion guides. So much so, that I make it a part of my daily grind. I’ve long since completed each of the fishing zones, but that doesn’t stop me from continuing to fish. Not only do you get green and blue trophy fish that sell at higher prices, you can also get unique containers which can hold leads, motifs, and special materials. With the common fish you can filet them to get the very precious Perfect Roe mat that sells for quite a bit in the traders. But the best part are the gorgeous locations in which to fish. Here are my top five favorite fishing spots in ESO.

1. ARTAEUM - Eastern Shore

Artaeum has several things going for it. First of all, LOOK AT IT! It’s gorgeous! The perpetual twilight creates a soothing ambiance that just calms the soul. I have spent hours here just watching the horizon and catching tons of fish.

What sets Artaeum apart from other areas is that it’s an island that has no random mobs, so you aren’t going to get interrupted at any fishing holes. I like roaming around the eastern shore best. It has the most fishing spots and also a treasure chest that spawns fairly frequently.

This is also the place where you can get Waterlogged Psijic Satchels. These are rare items that have a chance to drop the Artaeum Takeaway Broth and Artaeum Pickled Fish Bowl recipes. These are both bind on pick up so you won’t be able to sell them. BUT! You can sell the satchels at a pretty nice price depending on the market. Usually, 4,000 – 8,000 gold.

2. SUMMERSET - Illandril

Capture of Summerset fishing spot near Lillandril. Beautiful blue green shallow waters with rocks jutting out.

Summerset is one of my favorite areas. I love the vibrant colors of the trees, the water, and the architecture of the High Elf buildings. There are SO many great fishing spots in Summerset. Also, you can get Pyandonean bottles from fishing here. These containers sometimes drop motifs. Plus, they double up as great items to sell at the Trader. Here are two are my favorite spots.

The first is right outside Illandril to the north. This spot doubles for both scenic bliss and giant clam farming. A few giant clams pop up around here (to the west) every now and then. These are great for finding Powdered Mother of Pearl and Clam Gall. I usually fish around here, pop up north to find some giant clams, and then circle back down.

3. SUMMERSET - Direnni Geyser

The second spot, is north of Direnni Acropolis and south east of the Direnni Geyser. The beautiful clear waters and giant rock formations just make this spot a balm for the soul. Bonus for this area is that it’s right next to Direnni Geyser. So if you need a quick break or are waiting for the fishing holes to respawn, you can pop over and take care of business. Bonus loot!

4. WESTERN SKYRIM - Morthal

Western Skyrim has a lot to offer. When you need a break from sandy beaches and haughty High Elf attitudes, it’s time to go visit the Nords. Morthal to be exact. This spot is usually pretty quiet and very chill. Not just because of the ice either. Picturesque mountains covered in snow frame the backdrop and tall fir trees dot the landscape. It’s a breath of fresh air that leaves you thinking of warm drinks and fuzzy scarves. My favorite part of this fishing spot, is the ambient music. You just FEEL like you are out in the cold mountains. There’s even a few screeching hawks circling for good measure. Staring at the mountains here, I’m sure I can almost hear the sounds of a hobbit and his fellowship regretting their choice of trekking up the dangerous mountain paths. Be sure to check out the video!

5. TELVANNI PENINSULA - Fungal Lowlands

The Telvanni Peninsula is a zone I haven’t spent as much time around as other zones. But, I recently discovered this beautiful fishing spot and I can’t recommend it enough! You’ll find this luscious waterfall right below the Fungal Lowlands Wayshrine. There’s a bonus for this spot, too. On top of the waterfall there’s a chest that spawns pretty often. The second time I looted it, I came away with a gold lead! This fishing spot at the bottom is gorgeous, but don’t just stay here. Pop up to the lake above the waterfall and get all the great fishing spots up there as well. The view as dusk draws near is one of the best I’ve seen in ESO.

So that’s my top five favorite fishing spots in ESO. I hope you enjoyed seeing them and I’d love to hear from you. Let me know what are some of your favorite fishing spots in the game.
